The Boston Celtics have dominated the Eastern Conference this season. With weeks remaining in the regular season, they secured the first seed. As such, they’re widely viewed as favorites to emerge from the East and contend for an NBA championship. However, not everybody is bullish on the team’s chances of success.
During a recent interview with Heavy on Sports’ Steve Bulpett, an NBA head coach admitted that Boston can sometimes be prone to making damaging mistakes throughout a game. For Celtics fans, this isn’t breaking news. We’ve all seen the stretches of stagnation that can occur quarterly to quarterly.
“The things they do to themselves can be more damaging than what we’re trying to do to them,” The coach told Bulpett. “They’re really hard to guard when they space the floor and move the ball and get everyone involved — and they’ve been a lot better at that this year, more consistent. But they can hurt themselves at times, too.”
Nevertheless, this Celtics team is highly experienced. They’ve been to the NBA Finals before and have made multiple runs to the Conference Finals. If opposing teams expect the Celtics to slip up during the playoffs, they will likely be disappointed.

After all, the playoffs are a best-of-seven series. The Celtics have been far too consistent for them to be concerned with a multi-game slide. However, there will undoubtedly be concern if the team finds themselves in a win-or-go-home situation.
Fortunately, Brad Stevens added two additional stars this summer. Jrue Holiday and Kristaps Porzingis provide additional options on both sides of the floor. With so much talent, experience and depth any mistakes the Celtics could make would rapidly be rectified. Or at least, you would hope.
