Few cities in the world have enjoyed as many championship parades as the city of Boston over the past 25 years between six Super Bowls, a Stanley Cup, several World Series titles and now a second NBA title. But just because they’ve gotten used to semi-regular parades doesn’t mean Bostonians aren’t showing up anymore.
Photos and videos from the streets of Boston during today’s title parade show that hundreds of thousands of people have taken to the streets to see the newly-minted NBA champion Boston Celtics ride alongside the Larry O’Brien trophy.

The Celtics’ run to their second NBA title of the past 25 years was one of the most impressive that they’ve ever had. They lost a grand total of two games in their first three rounds and swept the Indiana Pacers in the Eastern Conference Finals.
The NBA Finals didn’t exactly give the Celtics that many headaches either. They blew out the Dallas Mavericks in three of their four wins and only narrowly failed to secure a sweep of Kyrie Irving and Luka Doncic.
Perhaps the most impressive thing about their title win is that they got the title despite having a head coach with very limited head coaching experience and without a player who most consider to be in the top five.
Where does this NBA title rank among the Celtics’ record-setting amount? And where does this crowd rank among the biggest parade crowds in NBA history?
