On Saturday (Feb. 24) the Boston Celtics produced a stellar performance as they defeated the New York Knicks for the fourth time this season. One of the more noticeable differences in Boston’s performance was how it shifted away from the three-point line to focus on pressuring the rim and attacking the paint.
While the Knicks were shorthanded for the game, missing OG Anunoby, Julius Randle and Mitchell Robinson to injury, they still posed a significant threat. Jalen Brunson and Bojan Bogdanovic are both capable offensive stars in the NBA. As such, some fans dubbed the Celtics’ impressive win as the best of the season.
During a recent episode of CLNS Media’s “The Garden Report,” the hosts expanded on the Celtics’ performance against New York. They began postulating if the team still had another gear it could find or if what they displayed was who they were at their best.
