In the entire history of the NBA, there have only been 13 players in total who stood 7-foot-4 or taller. Among those literal giants of the sport is a former Boston Celtics big man, fan favorite center Tacko Fall. And while extraordinary height can indeed confer plenty of advantages in a sport like basketball, it can also create some issues to contend with.
Some of those 13 players used their unusual stature to greater effect than others, while others struggled to overcome issues of speed, mobility, or skill. Where does the former Boston big man stack up against his similarly tall peers in league history?
The hosts of The Athletic “No Dunks” podcast decided to debate the order of the league’s 13 tallest players in history, and while he may not be a superstar on the court in terms of his play, Fall has a solid showing with what he’s done in the league so far in their estimation.
