Derrick White was a late addition to Team USA. The Boston Celtics guard replaced the injured Kawhi Leonard and has become ever-present in Steve Kerr’s rotation throughout the group stage of the 2024 Paris Olympics. White is an elite point-of-attack defender and high-level playmaker off the dribble.
Most importantly, though, White is a star in his role and has no problem sharing the floor with superstar talent. As such, he is plugging an important gap in Team USA’s roster construction and proving to be an elite addition to a roster that has its eyes set on winning a gold medal.
In the latest episode of the “How ‘Bout Them Celtics?” podcast, hosts Jack Simone and Sam LaFrance discuss the different ways that White slots into Kerr’s rotation and why he is the perfect fit for the star-studded roster.
