With the Boston Celtics having the Eastern Conference’s top spot all but locked up with an eight-game lead over the second-place Cleveland Cavaliers at the three-quarters mark of the 2023-2 NBA season, you might think Wyc Grousbeck would be more relaxed.
But the Celtics co-owner has been anything but as Boston looks poised to hang its first banner since the 2008 team taught us anything was possible. Speaking to WCVB Channel 5 Boston, Grousbeck shared what it’s felt like for him watching this team. “I want it so badly, you know, for the guys, not just for me. I want it for everybody. For the fans,” said Grousbeck.
“Every win seems super important,” added the team’s lead Governor.
Grousbeck opened up about a perspective rarely shared in the sports world, and fans of the team are likely pleased to hear the guy writing the checks wants it as bad as they do. Check out the chat above!
