Wyc Grousbeck will continue his role as the CEO and governor of the Boston Celtics through the 2027-28 season, sources told Shams Charania of ESPN.
Bill Chisholm agreed to purchase the team for $6.1 billion on Thursday.
Co-owners Grousbeck and Steve Pagliuca announced the sale of the Celtics shortly after the team won its 18th NBA title last June.
It was the Grousbeck family’s original plan for Wyc Grousbeck to remain in charge through the 2028 season.
