Our pick for the female athlete who best embodies the characteristics of a Boston College Eagle is field hockey player Margo Carlin, who was nominated alongside women’s basketball player Dontavia Waggoner & lacrosse player Sydney Scales.
A graduate student, Carlin has spent all five years of her career at BC — not only standing out for her numerous accomplishments on the field, but also for her work off of it.
This past season, Carlin led the ACC in total points, tallied her 100th career point, and was named the ACC Co-Offensive Player of the Year, all while serving as team captain.
Off the field, Carlin has continued her NIL partnership with Covenant House, a non-profit that provides housing and resources to folks facing homelessness. She has been partnered with them since 2021, and as of 2022 had raised $30,000 for the organization. We had the incredible opportunity to learn more & highlight the partnership back when it started her junior year.
Her dedication to the cause over the past three years truly embodies the BC spirit of “men and women for others,” and her exceptional college career will be remembered in BC field hockey history.
