On Sunday, the selection committee finalized the 2025 NCAA tournament bracket for Division 1, and Boston College secured its spot as the #1 overall seed in Manchester, NH as we all expected. They are slated to face off against Bentley on Friday March 28th at 2pm in their first round match-up. If they advance, they will play the winner of Providence-Denver on Sunday March 30th for the right to travel to St. Louis for the Frozen Four. You can find the full bracket here.
It will be quite the test for a Boston College team that got bounced out of the Hockey East tournament by Northeastern in the quarterfinals. Denver is of course the team that stymied BC in the NCAA championship game last year and took home the trophy. Matt Davis is once again the goaltender for the Pioneers and they are looking to make yet another run after falling in the NCHC championship game to Western Michigan. Providence is of course a Hockey East rival, and Bentley is a local rival with some insidious initials (BU). Don;t let their low seed fool you, Bentley is a tough team that just defeated Holy Cross in the AHA championship game and could be a tough out, especially for an Eagles team that hasn’t played in two weeks.
