This is a great get for Earl Grant’s staff and a really solid foundation to start rebuilding his roster after so many players left through the transfer portal in the 2024 offseason. Steger is a 4-star recruit according to the 247 composite score.
Steger is 6’4” and 190 lbs, having some length that will help him defend both guards and wings, though he is not the most athletic prospect. According to his scouting report, Steger’s biggest strength is his catch-and-shoot ability, especially behind the three-point line. He will be a great plug-and-play option that can help stretch the floor for the BC offense and can play well with any kind of line-up.
Steger also received offers from TCU, Cal, Virginia Tech, Vanderbilt, and West Virginia, among others. He joins 3-star recruits Jack Bailey, a 6’10” power forward, and Akbar Waheed, a 6’5” shooting guard, in the 2024 class for Boston College.
Welcome to the Heights, Caleb!
