All-ACC teams were announced today and seven Eagles found their names on the three teams and the honorable mention group, including nearly the entire offensive line as deserved.
First Team
- OL Christian Mahogany
- DB Elijah Jones
No surprise with these two. Mahogany was steadfast all season long as part of the best unit on this Boston College team. A projected top round pick in the upcoming draft, Mahogany
Elijah Jones led the team with five interceptions in his nine games played most critically in the win over Georgia Tech. Jones nabbed two interceptions in that one as well as two later against Syracuse. Jones has been suspiciously absent for the past three games (all losses for BC) and is considered out for the season, but still finds his way on this list for his ball hawking. He also is credited with five passes defended and a forced fumble.
Second Team
- OL Ozzy Trapilo
Third Team
- LB Vinny DePalma
The elder statesman of the team, DePalma has logged a lot of miles at BC. He ended this season leading the team in tackles (87) once again, 1 TFL, 0.5 Sacks, and a fumble recovery.
Honorable Mention
- OL Logan Taylor
- OL Kyle Hergel
- DT Cam Horsley
In their first seasons on the Heights, the two lineman did good work helping produce a strong rushing offense. Horsley was praised by Hafley a few weeks ago for his unheralded play. The senior finished the season with 38 tackles and got his hands up for 3 blocked passes. Kudos to Cam doing his best on the inside.
Notable Misses
It’s unfortunate QB Thomas Castellanos couldn’t find his way onto a team, but there was some solid quarterback play in the conference. After finishing second in the nation in yards (957) rushed for a quarterbacks. Center Drew Kendall was also part of a strong offensive line, but the redshirt sophomore did not make it this season after a Freshman All American season. After missing two games, RB Kye Robichaux finished just a tad short of the folks that made the teams, but still a strong year from him finishing with 691 yards, 4.6 yards per carry.
Congratulations to all.
