On Monday night, Boston College landed their first commitment from the transfer portal in F Aidan Shaw.
Shaw was a top-70, 4-star prospect in the 2022 class. The 6’9, 210-pound PF committed to Mizzou over the likes of Kansas, Arkansas, Creighton, Iowa State, and host of other offers. In three years with the Tigers he has posted career averages of 3.0 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 0.6 blocks. He brings much-needed athleticism and size to the Eagles’ front court, where he will likely be a defensive stopper seeing most of his minutes at the 3 and 4 but able to switch onto smaller guards and bigger 4s and 5s. The question will be his offensive production. He has so far in his college career struggled as a shooter and a scorer — whether he is able to break out as a productive rotation piece or even a starter will likely hinge on that. I project him as a 6th/7th man off the bench, seeing 15-20 minutes per game with upside for more if his shooting can come around.
Welcome to the Heights, Aidan!
