Bad news bears coming out of BC as Amari Jackson is out for the season with a torn ACL. The junior corner came out of the game early in the second half against UVA and unfortunately the worst has come to fruition.

Jackson was off to a strong start to the season with an interception and leading the team with five pass breakups. Since his true freshman season, the Georgia native has started 24 games including every game this season and last – the fifth most consecutive starts on the team. He’s shown really solid improvement every season especially after being the team’s most targeted defensive back last year. He had an interception last season as well, 39 tackles, and held opposing receivers to a 57.7 completion percentage.
Without Jackson (and Khari Johnson), the Eagles really struggled in coverage in the second half against Virginia. Even with him, BC’s pass defense has been poor allowing 217 yards per game, 72nd in the country. Redshirt sophomore and OSU transfer Ryan Turner is next up on the depth chart, but expect the staff to try out a number of guys to start opposite Max Tucker.
The Eagles Landing alum turned BC Eagle was on the Senior Bowl watch list after the group opened up beyond to draft-eligible underclassmen. Here’s hoping his recovery goes well and he’s able to come back healthy next season.
