The Boston College men’s hockey team lost in the Beanpot Championship game tonight, falling to Boston University by a score of 4-1.
The Eagles took an early 1-0 lead when Gabe Perreault got a shot on a wide open side of the net, and BC took that 1-0 lead into the first intermission.
Unfortunately, the Terriers scored a pair of goals one right after another in the second period to take a 2-1 lead over BC.
The Eagles went into the final period down by 1 goal, and kept fighting but weren’t able to get any terrific chances despite staying even with BU in shots on goal. With just about 6 minutes remaining in the game, BU scored again to take a 3-1 lead. BC wasn’t able to come back from that, and the Terriers made it 4-1 on an empty net goal with 1:42 remaining in the game. That score held and the Terriers took the trophy with a 4-1 final.
