Another month closer to football season. It wasn’t an overly busy month for the Eagles, but a good bit of news from the home-front these as the month comes to a close.
Most recently, Bill O’Brien former quarterback at Penn State, Matt McGloin will be joining BC as an offensive analyst, per Pete Thamel. After resigning from his elected post on the Lackawanna County Board of Commissioners two days ago, McGloin will be taking his talents from the Electric City to Chestnut Hill. After walking-on at Penn State, McGloin played for four season in the NFL primarily with the Raiders. It seems his college coach has now lured him into the same profession. He has also been heard broadcasting for the Big Ten Network over the past few years.
Cory Robinson is being targeted as the team’s new defensive backs coach. Robinson has a mix of collegiate and NFL work since 2015. Most recently he was coaching DBs with the Jaguars and was a defensive analyst with the Tennessee Volunteers the season prior. His college experience extended with stops at Toledo, Temple, Rutgers and Maryland and a three year stint with the Saints. Robinson’s hire comes after the San Francisco 49ers hired away Ray Brown to coach the position at the pro level.
As discussed last month, Jordan Thomas has officially been named the team’s defensive line coach.

Ryan Finck is coming on board as an assistant offensive line coach. Finck previously worked with O’Brien at Alabama. Before that he was assistant line coach at Kentucky, and had stops at Wyoming and Ohio before that. Finck played offensive line at Heidelberg.
Jackson McSherry has been hired as the team’s new director of football operations. He’s been in the same role at Harvard for the past five years and worked with Mizzou’s program while he was a student.
