Name: Jacob Fowler
Position: Goalie
Year: Sophomore
Number: 1
Height: 6’2”
Hometown: Melbourne, FL
Drafted: #69 overall by the Montreal Canadiens in the third round of the 2023 NHL Entry Draft
Last Season: Fowler was BC’s workhouse in net as a freshman, playing in 39 of the team’s 41 games en route to a 32-6-1 record. Fowler was absolutely phenomenal as a freshman, posting a .926 save percentage and picking up a whole host of accolades at the end of the season. Among them were the Hockey East Goaltender of the Year Award and a nomination as a finalist for the Mike Richter award, given to the best goalie in the country every year.
Season Outlook: Fowler is going to be the main man in net again for BC, and there’s no reason not to expect a repeat performance in his sophomore campaign. In Fowler, the Eagles have one of the best goalies in the nation, and he should continue to prove that point in the 2024-2025 season. He’ll be the every night starter unless Greg Brown wants to give him a night off here and there and he will be the backbone to what should be a strong BC defense this year.
Fun Fact: Fowler’s incredible diving save against BU in the Hockey East Championship game was voted the 2023-24 Hockey East Men’s Play of the Year and is always worth watching again
