Name: Eamon Powell
Position: Defense
Year: Graduate Student
Number: 2
Height: 6-0
Hometown: Marcellus, NY
Last Season: Powell, while serving as captain, was BC’s most offensive defensemen last year, tallying 38 points in 40 games over the course of the season with 12 multi-point games. A key member of the BC power play, Powell was often quarterbacking the first unit, and tallied many of his 33 assists while on the advantage.
Season Outlook: Powell returns to BC for his fifth year of eligibility and will serve as captain for a second year. It’s highly likely that he will play the same role as he did last year as a top pairing defenseman who drives play for the first power play unit. I wouldn’t be surprised to see his goal totals go up slightly from last season, as he’ll have more of an opportunity to score as the team’s offense adjusts this season, especially on the power play.
Fun Fact: Powell’s younger brother, Seamus, played at BC two years ago before transferring — and Eamon assisted on his first college goal.
