Name: Will Skahan
Position: Defenseman
Year: Freshman
Number: 26
Height: 6-5
Hometown: Woodbury, MN
Drafted: Taken with the final pick in the second round, #65 overall in 2024 by the Utah Hockey Club
Prior to BC: Skahan spent the 2023-2024 season with the USNTDP where he put up 14 points in 60 games. Skahan also represented the US in the Under 18 World Junior Tournament, where he had a goal and an assist in seven games while earning a silver medal.
Season Outlook: Will Skahan will be freshman to know right from the jump for the Eagles, as he will almost certainly be a key part of the defensive core right away. Even as a freshman, Skahan is listed as the biggest defenseman on BC’s roster, and he should bring a physical presence that helps out in the defensive end and particularly on the penalty kill. He might not put up huge numbers in terms of points, but he should immediately be able to contribute to a BC defense that will hopefully be a strength in the 2024-25 season.
Fun Fact: Will’s father, Sean Skahan, has spent close two two decades as a strength and conditioning coach in the NHL
