Cap is back!
GREAT news broke for the Boston College men’s hockey program late on Wednesday night. Senior captain Eamon Powell announced on Instagram that he plans to use his extra COVID year of eligibility to return to the Heights for a fifth and final season.
Powell was a hugely important piece for the 2024 Boston College team that was #1 in the country for most of the season, won a Hockey East championship, and made it all the way to the NCAA championship game before falling to Denver. With Powell’s leadership, BC had the most effective penalty kill in the nation and boasted a top-5 defense overall. He also racked up 38 points this season and was a very effective offensive defenseman playing alongside some of the Eagles’ top talent. There is no doubt that Powell’s return is a huge boost for the team and will help them remain competitive for a national title in 2025.
