The Boston College men’s hockey team picked up a midweek non-conference win tonight, defeating Harvard 3-1 at Conte.
The Eagles got a lucky start, as Harvard committed a few penalties in a row to give BC a decent chunk of time on the power play. Teddy Stiga was able to convert on one of those power plays, and BC took an early 1-0 lead. Unfortunately, the Eagles let the Crimson get a power play goal of their own late in the first period, sending the game into intermission tied at 1.
The Eagles got some great hustle from Mike Posma and Will Vote in the second period, and Posma was eventually able to set Vote up for the game-winner, making it 2-1 Eags.
BC slowed down after that second goal, but maintained the 2-1 lead and with a couple minutes to go in the game Harvard pulled the goalie. The Eagles were then able to ensure their victory as Brady Berard hit the empty net for his third goal in as many games to make it 3-1 BC.
