Boston College men’s hockey defeated Providence 4-1 tonight, completing the weekend sweep despite being outshot 31-24 in this evening’s game.
BC’s first goal was from James Hagens to Gabe Perreault, and BC took a 1-0 lead into intermission because of that goal.
The Eags went up 2-0 early in the second thanks to a goal from Jake Sondreal, but Providence cut the lead to 2-1 with just over 6 minutes to go in the period by scoring immediately upon getting a man advantage.
The game went into the third period with BC up 2-1 and despite high intensity from the Friars, the Eagles continued to convert on their chances to run away with the game. BC went up 3-1 when Ryan Leonard scored on a power play, and then Hagens and Perreault set up an amazing play for Teddy Stiga to make it a 4-1 final.
