Tonight the Eagles did what Boston University could not last night, defeating Simon Fraser in regulation during their exhibition matchup. BC defeated Simon Fraser 5-1 despite a big chunk of the roster still being en route home from winning gold at World Juniors.
Simon Fraser struck first tonight, taking a 1-0 lead into the first intermission. BC came out fighting in the second however. The Eagles tied things up on a Oskar Jellvik goal from Andre Gasseau, and then went up 2-1 as Gentry Shamburger fed a great pass to Mike Posma. BC then took a 3 goal lead after a few good chances when Jamie Armstrong tipped in a Jack Malone shot.
With just over 2 minutes to play in the second Jacob Bengtsson times a perfect shot to make it 4-1, and then Gasseau scored seconds later to make it 5-1. That 5-1 score held through the final period of play, and the Eagles earned the win thanks to their 5 goal second period.
