Boston College played the USNTDP in an exhibition game tonight, earning an 8-4 victory.
Jan Korec got the start in net for BC, and made some nice saves to keep the USNTDP scoreless. The Eagles took an early 1-0 lead thanks to Teddy Stiga, and then went up 2-0 off a Gentry Shamburger goal.
With 7:52 to go in the first, a BC no goal was reviewed, but was determined to have not gone in, keeping the score at 2-0 Eags. Luckily, the Eagles got a goal from Will Skahan under a minute later to get that 3-0 lead.
Dean LeTourneau scored with 4:22 to go in the first period for his first of the year to make it 4-0, but the USNTDP got one past Korec on a rebound shortly after to cut the lead to 4-1.
Gabe Perrault scored as the first period wound down to make it 5-1 BC, and then James Hagens scored under a minute into the second to bump BC’s lead to 6-1. With just over 11 minutes to go in the second period, Mike Posma got another for BC to make it 7-1.
The USNTDP started the third period hot, scoring 2 goals in quick succession to make it 7-3 BC, but with about 6 and a half minutes left in the game Stiga scored again to make it 8-3 Eagles.
The USNTDP got another one back with 3:18 to go, but that was the final goal of the game and BC took this one 8-4.
One thing to keep an eye on is that Dean LeTourneau left the game in the second period and did not return.
