The Eagles suffered a rough loss tonight, falling 4-2 to the Northeastern Huskies.
The Huskies took a 2-0 lead early in the first period, and BC struggled to get back into the game from there. Oskar Jellvik scored a great goal off a rebound to cut the lead to 2-1, only for Northeastern to immediately score and go up 3-1.
The Huskies went into the second period with that 3-1 lead, and neither team was able to score during those 20 minutes so that score held into the third.
The Eagles began the third with 4:11 of a major penalty to kill after Jake Sondreal received a game misconduct, but BC did kill it off. The Eagles took another penalty with 8:29 to go in the game, which they did kill but which took 2 minutes of even strength time away from their attempts to catch up. However, shortly after the penalty expired Ryan Leonard was finally able to break through and score for BC, cutting Northeastern’s lead to 3-2.
With just under 2 minutes remaining, BC pulled Fowler for the extra skater. Unfortunately BC wasn’t able to score, and the Huskies got an empty net goal with 3.5 on the clock to take this one 4-2.
