The Boston College men’s hockey team defeated Merrimack 6-0 this afternoon after honoring the Eagles’ graduating seniors and grad students: Aidan Hreschuk, Mike Posma, Connor Joyce, Gentry Shamburger, and Eamon Powell.
The Eagles dominated the entire game, and were backed up by a strong effort from Jacob Fowler who earned yet another shutout.
BC’s first goal was scored by Ryan Leonard, and the Eagles then went up 2-0 off a beautiful play from Lukas Gustafsson that led to a Teddy Stiga goal. The Eagles took that 2-0 lead into intermission, and then Gabe Perreault scored a rocket of a shot to make it 3-0 in the second.
The Eags scored 3 goals in the third period for a final score of 6-0. Perreault scored his second of the game to make it 4-0, then Teddy Stiga took the puck away from a Merrimack player to score and make it 5-0, and senior Connor Joyce closed out the scoring with the sixth and final goal of the game. Also worth nothing is that captain Eamon Powell picked up 3 assists in his final regular season game as an Eagle.
