PREVIEW:
The Friars are having a strong start to their season, despite going just above .500 in November. They’ve earned sweeps against Michigan and Northeastern and defeated Denver so far this year, and are coming off a split weekend against Arizona State heading into the matchup against the Eagles.
On offense, sophomore Jaroslav Chmelar leads the team with 14 points in 15 games, followed by senior Nick Poisson who has 12 points in 15 games. Their highest scoring defenseman is grad transfer Luke Krys, who has 9 points this season. In net, sophomore Philip Svedebäck has played in all 15 games and has a .914 save percentage with a 1.94 GAA.
The Eagles and the Friars play each other two more times in January after this week’s matchup. Last season, all three matchups ended in ties — these teams play a tight game. Saturday should be a fun one. Go Eags!
