On Monday morning, Boston College quarterback Emmett Morehead announced his decision to transfer to Old Dominion on social media.

Morehead took over the starting QB duties at BC from Phil Jurkovec at the end of the 2022 season and was projected to be the full-time starter heading into 2023, but things didn’t turn out exactly as planned for the California native. UCF transfer Thomas Castellanos split time with Morehead on opening day and then took over the starting duties by Week 2, relegating Morehead right back to back-up duties. He appeared a few more times throughout the course of the season, but it became clear fairly quickly that Castellanos had earned the trust of Hafley’s coaching staff.
In the back half of his 2022 campaign as an Eagle, the only time where he really got a chance to show what he could do full-time, Morehead threw for a 60% completion rate, 9 TDs, and 6 INTs in 4.5 games. Good luck at ODU, Emmett!
