The Eagles swept St. Cloud this weekend, earning a 2-1 win tonight after defeating the Huskies 4-1 last night.
The Eagles had some good chances to start the game, but St. Cloud broke through first, scoring just under 5 minutes into the game to take a 1-0 lead. BC’s passing was just a little bit off for much of the period, and while the Eags were able to get a few solid chances there weren’t able to tie things up and the Huskies took a 1-0 lead into the first intermission.
The second period started off on a had note for BC, as Oskar Jellvik went to the locker room with an injury early. Things turned around for the Eags 6 and a half minutes into the period, as Eamon Powell tied the game at 1 just after a BC power play concluded. The Eagles ended the period with a fantastic shot from Aram Minnetian, but it was stopped and the teams went into the second period tied at 1.
The Eagles took their first lead of the game early in the third period thanks to an absolutely beautiful display of stick handling from Gabe Perreault.
With 1:02 to go in regulation Drew Fortescue was sent out on a major penalty, but BC killed it to earn the 2-1 win and the weekend sweep.
