After a competitive game against a top 25 team on Sunday, the Boston College women’s basketball team could not keep up with a ranked opponent tonight, falling to Notre Dame by a score of 98-48.
The Eagles kept things close early, going into the second quarter down just 14-11. Unfortunately for BC, it was all Notre Dame from there on out. The Fighting Irish took a 39-19 lead into halftime and just kept growing their lead from there.
The Eagles shot just 29.2% overall, went 1-for-19 from behind the arc, and made just 5 of 11 free throws. They were out-rebounded 55-30, but did have some solid defensive play, including forcing 19 turnovers and making 12 steals. Dontavia Waggoner had the best performance for the Eagles in the loss with 12 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 steals. She was the only BC player to score in the double digits.
