Did you enjoy getting to know the players on the Boston College men’s basketball team this year? Well, I hope you have a good memory, because that’s all that’s left.
On Tuesday evening, BC sophomore forward Devin McGlockton announced his intentions to enter the NCAA transfer portal. He is the sixth Eagle to do so, joining a list that includes Claudell Harris, Jaeden Zackery, Mason Madsen, Prince Aligbe, and Armani Mighty. With the additional departure of Quinten Post to graduation, that leaves a very depleted roster for Boston College to work with heading into next season.

McGlockton was a very promising prospect for the Eagles and it was looking like he was going to become the focal point of the team next season with the other top scorers on their way out. He showed a lot of flashes of high level scoring, like his 30-point performance against Georgia Tech in January and several other double-digit showings. He excels with his efficiency in the paint, shooting 64% from inside the arc this past season and racking up 6+ rebounds per game, trailing only Post on the team.
One has to hope that Earl Grant will be hitting the transfer portal hard to replace these guys, because while players like Donald Hand and Elijah Strong have shown some promise, there is only so much a few guys can do.
