Gauthier just finished up his second season at Boston College, a remarkable campaign that ended with a loss in the NCAA national championship game on Saturday night. He led the nation in goals scored with 38 on the season, and was second in the nation in points with 65, behind only his teammate Will Smith.
This incredible performance led him to be a finalist for the 2024 Hobey Baker award, given annually to college hockey’s best player. Gauthier lost the award in the end to Boston University’s Macklin Celebrini, despite recording a higher goal total, points total, and going 3-1 in head-to-head match-ups against BU in large part due to Gauthier’s great defense against Celebrini.
Good luck in the NHL, Cutter! We’re so grateful for everything you did for Boston College.
