Payne was important player coming off of the bench for BC this past season, backing up the starting guards and providing a solid defensive presence for the Eagles. Despite coming off of the bench in 29 of his 30 games, Payne led the team in steals (26) while keeping his fouling to a minimum. Payne has also been a vocal leader on the court and will be an important part in maintaining the culture that head coach Earl Grant is trying to build at BC.
Payne is the third player to officially announce his return to the roster, following star guard Donald Hand and big man Jayden Hastings earlier this week.
