Perreault was part of a huge recruiting class for Boston College men’s hockey, and immediately made an impact on the program as a freshman. As part of the freshman super line with Will Smith and Leonard, Perreault put up 60 points in 36 games last season.
Perreault was a mainstay on the Eagles’ top line with Ryan Leonard and James Hagens this season, scoring 16 goals and tallying 32 assists for a total of 48 points in 37 games. He scored his 100th point this season as well, rounding out his college career with 108 points in 73 games.
As the Rangers are unlikely to make playoffs this year, it’ll be interesting to see what their plan is for Perreault the rest of the season. It’s possible he makes his NHL debut on Wednesday, but it’s still to be determined.
Eagles fans have been so lucky to watch such a talented player don the BC uniform for two years. Congratulations, Gabe!
