Wednesday was national signing day, and Boston College football had a bunch of recruits, new and old, sign their letters of intent to join the football program in Chestnut Hill. Alongside an influx of transfers in recent days, Jeff Hafley and his staff have slowly put together some pieces of their new roster.
Syair Torrence is a wide receiver out of Syracuse, NY. He’s a three-star recruit and figures to be a threat in the slot at 5’11” and 195 lbs. He also received offers from Michigan State, Michigan, Pitt, Syracuse, Rutgers, and others.

Jadon Lafontant is an OL pickup for the Eagles, this one coming locally from Greenwich, CT. Lafontant is a 3-star prospect who plays on the interior offensive line and had offers from Kentucky, Pitt, Duke, Syracuse, and others. Hafley’s staff is clearly prioritizing OL depth as they prepare to lose star guard Christian Mahogany and look to avoid a depleted position group like they faced in 2022.

Ashton McShane is a cornerback out of McKinney, TX. He’s another 3-star recruit, this one coming on the defensive side for a team that struggled to defend the pass last season. Jeff Hafley has picked up some talent in that part of the defense to try to shore up his area of expertise.

Cedric Lott Jr. is another WR recruit for the Eagles, who have been leveraging the success of Zay Flowers to pick up some threats in the receiving corps. Lott is a 3-star prospect who has received offers from Texas Tech, Memphis, North Texas, and UTSA, so Jeff Hafley is searching far and wide across the country to find some help on the outside.

Pape Abdoulaye Sy is a native of Senegal and comes to BC from the NFL Academy in London. He is not rated on any major recruiting website, so it’s tough to tell how big of a pickup this is, but his physical profile certainly seems promising at 6’7” and 301 lbs.
