This past week, we have seen an outpouring of love and grief for Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau and their families. From beautiful and heartbreaking memorials by current and former teammates to candlelight vigils in Columbus and Calgary attended by hundreds of friends and strangers alike, it is clear how much both Gaudreau brothers meant to everyone whose lives they touched.
If you would like to honor John and Matty’s lives and everything they both meant to Boston College, contributions in their memory may be made to the newly formed John & Matthew Gaudreau Foundation. Donations can be sent to the foundation c/o Lewis Gross, Sports Management 560 Sylvan, Suite 3070, Englewood Cliffs, N.J. 07632.
You can also show your support for the Gaudreau family by donating to the GoFundMe created to help support Matthew’s widow Madeline and their unborn son Tripp.
Matthew and Johnny’s memorial will take place on Monday, September 9 at 12 PM and will be for family and close friends. The Gaudreau family will generously be opening up the brothers’ memorial service via a livestream on CBJ’s website and the Flames’ website so that everyone who is grieving the loss of Matthew and Johnny can pay their respects.
We at BC Interruption continue to send all of our love to Madeline and Tripp, Meredith and Noa and Johnny, Jane and Guy and Kristen and Katie, and the rest of the Gaudreau family. The Gaudreaus are forever a part of the Boston College community, and that community will always be here to support them.
