Another bowl game in NYC for the Eagles. Can they come out of this one with their 8th win?
On Saturday afternoon, the Boston College football team will make their way down the Northeast corridor to Yankee Stadium once again, this time to face off against the Nebraska Cornhuskers for the 2024 Pinstripe Bowl. Eagles fans are very familiar with this venue, after experiencing a heartbreaking loss to Penn State in 2014 and then a frigid loss to Iowa in 2017. But this time things could be different, as BC looks to secure an 8-win season for the first time since 2009 with new head coach Bill O’Brien.
Who: Boston College Eagles (7-5) vs Nebraska Cornhuskers (6-6)
Where: Yankee Stadium, New York, NY
When: Saturday December 28th, 2024
Kickoff Time: 12pm ET
How to Watch: This game will be broadcast live on ABC with MeTV carrying the game locally across New England, and it will also be available to stream here.

What to Watch For
- Create chaos. The Huskers have been riding-or-dying with true freshman QB Dylan Raiola this season, which certainly has had its ups and downs. He has 12 TD passes and throws for 200+ yards per game, but he also has thrown 10 INTs on the season and has lost two fumbles. With two key Nebraska offensive playmakers opting out of this game (WR Isaiah Neyor and RB Dante Dowdell), and an offense that has struggled to put up points for much of the season, the key for Boston College will be to pressure Raiola and force some of those mistakes.
- A weakened(?) Husker defense. Nebraska boasts a top-20 defense in the nation, but they lost 8 players to the transfer portal already, including a few key contributors. The key for Grayson James and the BC offense will be to limit turnovers and get the ball out quickly, as Nebraska’s Ty Robinson is a prolific pass rusher and leads a pretty dominant run-stuff, too.
- Don’t let up big plays. If there’s one thing that this Nebraska offense can do, it’s utilize Raiola’s cannon arm to break down a defense over the top. BC’s secondary has certainly struggled this season and their injuries have made things even worse, so things could start looking ugly if Nebraska is able to take advantage in the deep passing game.
Prediction: Boston College 21 Nebraska 17
With a forecast for rain throughout the contest, I think these teams will struggle to put up points. BC’s offense is better equipped to handle a defensive slugfest game like this with their dynamic running backs and short passing game, so I’ll take the Eagles over a largely untested Nebraska team that has scored 21+ points only once since September. Roll Eags!
