A look at how the Eagles match up against the Blue Devils
Looking to rebound from a tough overtime loss against NC State last time out, the Boston College Eagles men’s basketball team will play Central Connecticut on Tuesday at 6pm in Conte Forum. The game will be televised on ACC Network.
The Eagles are now 5-3 in what has already been an up-and-down season. After starting 4-0, they’ve now lost three of their last four games. Their last loss to NC State dropped them out of the top 100 in the KenPom rankings, to 102nd. Four Eagles scored in double digits, but they couldn’t hit their free throws or close out the game down the stretch. The good news is that Claudell Harris Jr. is becoming one of the team’s top scorers and would do well to continue it against the lowly Central Connecticut Blue Devils.
Central CT enters the game with a 3-4 record but also with a two-game win streak. They currently sit at 293rd on KenPom and haven’t succeeded in many areas this season. They rank in the 300s in rebounding and points, 149th in field goal percentage, and 296th in three-point percentage.
The Blue Devils are led by seniors Allan Jeanne-Rose and Kellen Amos. Jeanne-Rose is a 6’7” forward from Martinique and he leads his squad in points with 14.8 per game, while also contributing 3.5 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game. Amos is a 6’7” guard from Houston, Texas who is in his second year with Central Connecticut and is second on the team in points, but averages just 11.5 per game. He also leads the team in rebounds and assists, and is second in blocks. Tre Breland is another player to watch out for as he is shooting 41% from three, although he averages less than seven points per game.
Boston College has a clear advantage in this match-up. Quinten Post should be able to dominate in all facets of the game, with Harris Jr. and Jaeden Zackery contributing alongside him.
Prediction: Boston College 80 – Central Connecticut 64
