Georgia Tech has had an up and down year but still sit in the middle of the pack in the ACC. They’ve had good recent wins against ranked Clemson and Louisville. The Yellow Jackets will need to win the ACC Tournament to earn a NCAA Tournament berth, but still have that chance unlike the Eagles whose season is basically over baring a miracle.
Who: Boston College Eagles (11-15, 3-12 ACC) vs. Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (13-13, 7-8 ACC)
Where: Conte Forum, Chestnut Hill, MA
When: Saturday, February 22nd, 2025
Tip-off Time: 2:00 PM EST
How to Watch: This game will be broadcast on the ACC Network
In the first meeting between BC and Georgia Tech, Georgia Tech had their way with the Eagles. Lance Terry and Javian McCollum torched Boston College with 20 points a piece. The game was never close and the Yellow Jackets won 85-64. Elijah Strong and Chad Venning held their own on the interior scoring 35 combined points, but none of the BC guards reached double figures. It was one of Donald Hand worst games of the year, which has proven to be incredibly uncharacteristic.
In order for Boston College to beat Georgia Tech, their guard play has to be better. They need to do a better job of containing Lance Terry and, once again, own the interior. Boston College and Earl Grant have gotten off to some slow starts this year. They’re going to need to start fast in order to beat Georgia Tech tomorrow.
Prediction: Georgia Tech 75 Boston College 66
