Two completely different teams than the ones that faced off last season
On Monday night in Chestnut Hill, the 2024-25 Boston College men’s basketball season will get underway when they host The Citadel Bulldogs in Conte Forum. With a lot of changes this offseason and a roster that will need to find its footing quickly, it should be an interesting start to the season for the Eagles.

BC lost a lot of talent, but did bring in some interesting players in the offseason through the transfer portal, especially at the guard position. While the rotation is still being sorted out, you can expect the Eagles to have a strong depth in the backcourt with plenty of options for head coach Earl Grant to choose from if some of his options start to flame out.
The Citadel, meanwhile, is coming off of an 11-21 season under third-year head coach Ed Conroy. BC defeated the Bulldogs down in South Carolina at the beginning of last season, 75-71, but that was obviously a much different roster than the roster that will be out there on Monday night. The Bulldogs lost a lot of their talent, too, as their top-4 leading scorers frpm last season (AJ Smith, Elijah Morgan, Madison Durr, and Quentin Millora-Brown) all left the program since these two schools last saw each other.
Newcomers to their team include rotation players like Sola Adebisi, a transfer from Florida State who only played 28 total minutes in Tallahassee, Paxton Davidson, a guard transfer from Lipscomb, a few DIII transfers, and a few freshman recruits that didn’t make much noise in the national recruiting rankings. It’s clearly a rebuilding season for both of these programs and nobody is really sure what to expect when these teams hit the floor.
