Incoming Boston College freshman Teddy Stiga has been drafted by the Nashville Predators in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft. He was picked in the second round with the 55th overall pick and is the second future Eagle to be drafted this weekend, after Dean Letourneau was selected 25th overall.
Stiga, who will join the Eagles this fall, fell a little bit farther than many expected in the draft, like because he is a smaller player at 5’10 and 179 lbs. Spending time at BC will help him develop into an NHL ready player, as he already has the hockey sense and playmaking ability. Stiga played for the USNTDP the past two years, so he is already familiar with a number of current Eagles as well as some of his fellow rookies. This past year, he was third on the team in points (behind the leading scorer and fellow BC rookie James Hagens).
Stiga is the only future, current, or former Eagle affiliated as a player with the Predators at this time, but Rob Scuderi and Nathan Gerbe work for the Preds as development coaches.
