Today, September 11th, 2024, is the 23rd anniversary of the terrorist attacks on the United States that claimed the lives of thousands of people. Among those that we lost is Welles Crowther, a Boston College alum and former lacrosse player who worked in the World Trade Center in New York City.
What we all know most about Welles today are the heroic actions that he took on that morning in 2001 to save the lives of at least 18 people. He truly exemplified the Boston College motto of “men and women for others” by selflessly sacrificing his life to bring others to safety during a time of incomprehensible chaos. His actions on September 11th, 2001 serve as a shining example to us all that we can make the ultimate difference in each others’ lives and live up to the highest possible standards that we set for ourselves.
If you want to learn more about exactly how Welles made an impact on that day, you can watch the full-length documentary on YouTube here or order the book here.
