Incoming Boston College men’s hockey player Will Skahan was chosen with the 65th pick in today’s 2024 NHL Entry Draft, which was the final pick of the second round. Skahan was chosen by the newest NHL team, Utah, where he will likely join former Arizona Coyotes (RIP) player and fellow Eagle Jack McBain. Skahan is the third Eagle selected today, alongside his USNTDP teammate Teddy Stiga and Dean Letourneau.
Skahan is a defensive defensemen, who is 6’4 and not afraid to make some big hits. He managed to not get too many penalties with the USNTDP despite his style of play, and also adds a few goals and assists to help his team out every season.
Skahan is the third ever draft pick for Utah, who selected Tij Iginla 6th overall and Cole Beaudoin 24th overall. He is, however, the team’s first future NCAA player draft pick.
