There are four former New England Patriots players on an active roster for Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans on Sunday.
And they’re all playing for the Kansas City Chiefs.
Three of those players were still with the Patriots for the 2023 season in Bill Belichick’s final year with the team. It’s quite the jump to go from one of the worst teams in the NFL to a Super Bowl contender and a chance to win a ring.
Granted, the Patriots are on track to turn things around with Drake Maye at quarterback and Mike Vrabel taking over as head coach and the chief personnel decision-maker. But for at least four former Patriots players, the chance to cash in on immortality by winning a Lombardi Trophy will come in Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
