Bill Belichick isn’t typically one to address things circling around rumor mill, but the coach quickly shut down the idea that he has a team picked out that he’d like to coach next season.
During his regular Monday appearance on WEEI’s “The Greg Hill Show,” Belichick called the speculation about his coaching future “ridiculous” and that his only focus is on the Patriots right now.
Yeah, that’s ridiculous. … I’m just trying to do the best job I can right now. Obviously, I need to do better.

The rumor stems from ESPN’s Dan Orlovsky hopping on the “Pat McAfee Show” and revealing that he has sources that say the six-time Super Bowl champ’s next destination is “already determined.”
New England dropped to 2-9 with Sunday’s loss to the rival Giants, leading many to believe a parting of the ways is needed given the team’s lack of success post-Tom Brady.
At 71-years-old, Belichick has given no indications that he’d like to retire. But some foresee him transitioning to more of a front office role in his twilight years, a la his mentor Bill Parcells.
