On Sunday night, Bill Belichick and the Patriots will square off against Sean Payton and the Broncos. As far as the coaching matchup is concerned, it doesn’t get much better than that.
Speaking to the media Friday, Belichick revealed what he has in common with Payton. It has to do with their mentor.
“We had a common experience through Bill Parcells,” Belichick said with a smile. “We’ve both been yelled at a lot.”

Belichick and Payton have certainly learned a lot from Parcells in that department.
Last week, Payton was caught screaming at Russell Wilson on the sideline. He tried his best to downplay it though.
“Nothing more to share,” Payton said. “It certainly, you know, in-game intensity, heat of the moment, all of those things. But nothing more to add.”
If Belichick’s defense forces Wilson into a few mistakes on Sunday night, we might see Payton channel his inner-Parcells.
