Well, here’s something we didn’t expect to say. Former New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick will co-host a show with Pat McAfee next week on ESPN+.
For the past few years, McAfee has hosted “The Pat McAfee Show Draft Spectacular” with his usual cast and crew. This year, they’ll have Belichick by their side for some assistance.
McAfee announced this exciting news on ESPN before welcoming Belichick on his daily show as a guest.
“The person that’s going to be co-hosting the ‘Draft Spectacular’ that starts at 8 o’clock is the greatest head coach of all time, the greatest general manager of all time,” McAfee said. “Eight-time Super Bowl champion, ladies and gentlemen, this man, Bill Belichick.”
Belichick made it known that he’s amped up about working with McAfee.
“I’m looking forward to it,” Belichick said. “Draft day and draft weekend is always an exciting time for everybody – the teams, the fans, everyone involved in it. It’s a great event, and I’m looking forward to seeing it from the other side. It’ll be fun to be with you guys and get your expertise.”
This will be Belichick’s first major appearance since parting ways with the Patriots. There were rumblings about him taking on a TV role this year.
Belichick could return to coaching in 2025. For now, he’ll showcase his personality on TV, which is something we haven’t really seen.
