Boston College coach Bill O’Brien hopes to create a pipeline of future New England Patriots players through his college program.
When speaking with Mass Live’s Karen Guregian, O’Brien spoke about developing a Boston College that acts somewhat as a feeder program for Patriots coach Mike Vrabel.
“It’d be awesome,” O’Brien said. “They’ve got to do what they feel is best for them … but it would be great to have BC guys with the Patriots. It’d be an awesome thing for BC. And I think it would be great for the Patriots.
“…The fans would love these guys. They fit with Mike’s mentality. They’re hard-working guys, they’re lunch pail guys, they’re tough guys. They’re used to being in a demanding program. They’re used to tough coaching. So they do fit the mold.”
The Eagles have several draft prospects in 2025. Two of the more notable names include edge defender Donovan Ezeiruaku and offensive tackle Ozzy Trapilo. Edge defender and offensive tackle are two positions of need for the Patriots this year.
Some notable Boston College players that have been drafted by the Patriots in the past, include Dan Koppen, Mike Ruth and Damien Woody.
The Eagles have worked hard in developing their own pipeline of talent under O’Brien. Keeping that link open with Vrabel and the Patriots would be good for all parties involved.
