The Kansas City Chiefs tried to draw inspiration from the New England Patriots during their blowout loss to the Philadelphia Eagles at Super Bowl LIX.
They were down 27-0 at one point in the game, and that prompted Chiefs safety Justin Reid to mention the Patriots’ historic comeback win over the Atlanta Falcons at Super Bowl LI. The Patriots trailed by 25 points in a 28-3 deficit before coming from behind and winning in overtime, 34-28.
“The Patriots did it, Coach,” Reid said on NFL Films, via NFL on CBS. “We can do this [expletive]. The Patriots did it, 27-3. We can do this [expletive].”
“The Patriots came back 28-3 we can too”

Unfortunately for the Chiefs, they weren’t able to channel the spirit of the Patriots and come back in the game. They continued to get pummeled to the point where the Eagles sent in their backups to finish up the game late in the fourth quarter.
If anything, this illustrates exactly how incredible the Patriots’ comeback was at the time and just how difficult it would be to replicate.
