The Cardinals might have a thing for former New England Patriots players.
Arizona on Wednesday signed outside linebacker Ronnie Perkins, cornerback Keion Crossen and offensive lineman Nick Leverett to the practice squad.
Perkins played seven games with the Denver Broncos last season but is better known as one of Bill Belichick’s worst draft picks in recent years since he was often injured after being drafted in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft.
Crossen missed last season due to a shoulder injury and was a New England seventh-round draft pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. The 28-year-old was part of the Super Bowl LIII team.
Leverett was the more recent member of the Patriots. The 27-year-old was a backup center but failed to hold down his role and was released this week after Ben Brown came in and replaced Leverett.
The trio of former Patriots join recent signee Chad Ryland, who stepped up for Arizona in Week 5 against the San Francisco 49ers.
General manager Monti Ossenfort was a member of the New England front office from 2006-2019, and it seems like he and his staff are keeping are close eye on players who’ve left Foxboro, Mass.
