Colorado star Travis Hunter’s position has been revealed for the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine. Despite playing at both wide receiver and cornerback, the two-way player is listed as a defensive back for the combine.
Hunter finished the 2024 season as the Heisman Trophy winner. He had 96 receptions for 1,258 yards and 15 touchdowns. On the defensive side of the ball, he had 35 tackles, 11 pass deflections, a forced fumble and four interceptions.
There has been an ongoing debate on whether Hunter would make a better cornerback or wide receiver at the next level.
He still could potentially work in at both positions on a team given his natural athletic ability, but his listed position at the combine might have clued us in on where he’s leaning.
The Patriots have the fourth overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft, and they could be in a position to select Hunter. Pairing him with an All-Pro player like Christian Gonzalez would be a major boost to the secondary.
